The Rev. Dr. Vienna Cobb Anderson was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1977, and became the first female rector in Washington, D.C. Vienna’s education included Yale University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and study as a Fulbright scholar in London, England. In addition to Episcopal ministry, Vienna’s life experiences witness success in fields of performing arts, photography, canvas art and jewelry, modern dance and poetry. Vienna has also been a seminary professor, and was the first teacher of theater drama at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She also has extensive experience as a designer of liturgical events and vestments. Holy Faces Holy Places is a product of her diverse life experiences, and is reflective of her life’s work.
