John is an information security specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. He is a five-time alum of VCU, but he waited until he hit middle age before he started writing fiction seriously. He had been an accomplished photographer since high school and was known throughout Richmond as “Cookie John” for his baking prowess. He is happily married to the man he met in 1986. They have never been apart since their first date. His dad was in the Army, but he had nearly retired by the time John came along as the fifth child. Other than his service as a US Navy Corpsman supporting the Marine Corps, he has always considered Virginia home. John has lived in Richmond’s west end since 1996. He is an IT Geek: nerdy, introverted, bookish, fascinated by technology, and easily distracted by the next shiny thing that catches his eye.
