Ken Peterson
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ken Peterson entered public service at the age of seventeen when he received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. He completed paratrooper training at Ft. Benning, GA and was assigned to an air defense artillery battery on the German border with the Soviet Union during the cold war. He would go on to have a distinguished military career as an Army officer, attaining the rank of Captain.
After leaving the military, Ken earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University where he studied Finance and Economics. He later was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. Ken returned to public service in 2012 when he was elected to the Goochland County Board of Supervisors, serving as Chairman in 2013. During Ken’s first term, Goochland would undergo a significant revitalization and financial restructuring that helped avert a potentially disastrous outcome. Ken was re-elected to the Goochland County Board of Supervisors in November 2015. His commitment to public service and good government continues.
