Libby Layne grew up on Sunny Slope Farm in Rockingham County, the setting of Sadie's Silence. She has a B.S. in Music Education and Voice and a M.A. in Counseling. She has spent her life as an integral part of the educational and artistic communities in which she has lived. She was written two other books, The Sound of the Dolphin's Psalm and Becoming Clara Belle.
