Maureen Cummins

ABOUT THE AUTHOR​

Maureen Luby Cummins was born in Washington D.C.; the daughter of a career Naval officer and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. She and her sister, Michele, grew up living all over the world. Maureen has been on the board of directors for four humane societies, an abuse investigator for multiple counties, co-director of a city humane society, taught Freshman Composition part time at Highland Junior College, and was an English teacher at Topeka West High School for twenty five years. 


In addition, she is the state representative on the Pet Animal Advisory Board for licensed shelters and rescues. She has been selected twice as a woman of excellence in Shawnee County for her humane society work. She is the Operations Manager of SCARS, a no kill sanctuary for homeless dogs. 


Maureen lives in Auburn, Kansas and is married to Terry Cummins, a CPA, and has a married daughter, Meredith, a son in law, Bryan, and a ten year old grandson, Evan. 


About the Editor Michele Luby Eldredge was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and is the author’s older sister. She attended Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia, UCLA and George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia where she received a BA and MA in English Literature.
