Danny Andrew Hogan
Danny Andrew Hogan was born in Roanoke, Virginia in 1943, graduated from the Jefferson Senior High School in 1961, and was captain of the Bravo Company in the VMI Class of 1965. After graduation from VMI, he joined the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and earned his pilot’s license. In 1970, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master of Science degree for research and development for systems management. As a result, he developed plans and budgets for the USAF in the Pentagon from 1973 to 2003. In 1975, he switched from an active USAF member to a reservist, and joined the U.S. Commerce Department following the VMI “citizen-soldier” path. Most of his federal employment was in the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) from 1977 until he retired in 1996. His jobs included the DoE deputy Chief Financial Officer, deputy director of the office of Naval Petroleum and Oil Shales Reserves, and manager of the large Elk Hills oilfield in California (1988-1996). At DoE he was a Senior Executive Service person and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major General in 2003.
